Graphic Design.
unrealdesigns.
The branding of unrealdesigns.org required a modern and clean logo that would stand out from the crowd. I went about this by initially designing a font that i could work with and then i modified the basic black urd that got its initially inspiration from beer mats.
Team Surrey. National School Sailing Competition 2005.
As part of the unrealdesign team, the first major task was creating a logo for team surrey, in the national schools sailing competition. The logo had to be simple and with the use of minimal colours as it was required to be printed on the teams T-shirts. I used a simple line based graphic to portray a sail idea and used a simple font for the text.
Web Design.
The Routines.
The Routines, website was designed for a up and coming west london band. The website required an indie rock look. I set about this by using photographs provided by The Routines. The site also required an unique sense of individuality, i went about this by creating a site that popped up, after clicking on the link at the welcome page. From here you enter the world of The Routines.
Here you can access information about the band, latest news, discography, gigs, and media such as music and photos. Thirty second music samples were embeded as to provided a taster of their music. The photos were displayed using the same flash interface galleries that can be seen here on piximiti, with minor alterations. This is all displayed in a neat and very indie style.
The site was designed using Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Image Ready CS2 Adobe Illustrator CS2 and Macromedia Flash MX 2004.
Layout and scripting such as html and CSS styles were done using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004.
29er Association.
GBR 29er, website was designed for the UK 29er (sailing) boat class association. It is used as a way to get information regarding the various events to its many members. The site therefore had to be very simple to read, this is why the content is categorised using eye catching headers and links with corresponding colour coded category headers. All the data from the site is stored on databases and processed by PHP. A meaty back end was also included in this design as to enable excellent functionality with its great style. Which was also produced by the URD team.
The site was designed using basic PHP, HTML, and CSS scripting applications and Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 for initial PHP scripting layout. Adobe Photoshop CS2 was use for graphical work. To enable the site to be fully multi browser compatible; a "final" version was made in pure CSS.
In this project i created the banner and the news headers.
